I love the spring; it is my favorite time of the year. This picture of the sunrise over our pond was taken last week, Easter morning. It really doesn’t get much better than this.

Are you ready for the 2012 edition of the Parade of Homes in Lafayette? This year is the 50th annual parade presented by the Acadian Home Builders Association. Starting Saturday April 14th, the public has the opportunity to tour 44 newly built homes in 19 subdivisions across Acadiana and see the latest trends, designs, and products in home building.

Tickets are available for $7 at Doug Ashy, Cox retail centers, the Acadian Home Builders Association, and in a couple of the subdivisions during the parade.

Parade Times
Saturday, April 14 & Sunday, April 15: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 18: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 21 & Sunday, April 22: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

2012 is off to a great start when it comes to home sales in Lafayette parish and Acadiana.

The number of home sales pending continues to steadily climb as well. As of now, pending sales are just 4 short of 700. Last April, there were 543 sales pending at this time.

Meanwhile, inventory of homes for sale remains low for this time of year. The number of homes on the market actually went down this past month.

I’m having to say it again… If you are considering selling your home, now is a great time to do it as competition is less and buyers are buying!

This place was screaming for a picture. This is the Depot Gift Shop and Train Museum on Lafayette Street in Abbeville.

There is so much going on in the little side yard. I really love the way the picture turned out after I spent a little bit of time playing with it. Most of this was achieved with an app called “Dynamic Light” for iPad and now available for Mac computers. I had lots of fun with this one!
