After 17 years of living in Louisiana and almost 14 married to the same man, I’ve decided to become a US citizen. Truth is, my green card was about to expire and my options were to renew or take the oath. Yesterday, I was scheduled for an interview and to take the citizenship test, all part of the process. All went pretty smooth and I’m already scheduled for my oath ceremony… in two days! I guess it means that Thursday, I will wake up as a Canadian citizen and go to bed as a US citizen.
After my appointment, I crossed the Causeway Bridge into Mandeville to have lunch with a friend. What a beautiful place! We drove along the lake for a while and I could hardly keep my eyes on the road. I love old homes and I’m definitely planning another trip to the area just to do photography. I didn’t have much time yesterday but still had to snap a couple of shots.
There are so many beautiful places in Louisiana to visit and photograph. Please share your favorites with me if you feel like it!
